Puente de los Suspiros Bridge, Barranco

The Suspiros bridge is a famous wooden bridge that crosses the Bajada de los Baños to the delight of visitors.

This old bridge has been a source of inspiration for Peruvian musicians such as Chabuca Granda who wrote a song that bears the name of the bridge and later made him world-famous.

The Peruvians have a saying, “The barranquinos know from very old tradition that the founder of Barranco was nothing less than God”


Day trips in Lima

There are many things that you can do in Lima even if you’re just there for a short time.

Some big highlights are:

- Going to Barranco neighborhood to see the Suspiro bridge
- Enjoying the parks: Municipal Park, in Miraflores neighborhood (http://www.mirafloresperu.com)
- In downtown Lima, you can see the colonial architecture at the Plaza San Martín, the Main square, San Francisco church, Muralla Park, the Congress, Universitario Park, San Marcos House, Exposition Park
- The Catacombs of the San Francisco Church have a great collection of religius colonial art of the America.
- Other noteworthy archtectural sights are Lima Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, La Merced Church, Riva Agüero House, Torre Tagle Palace, Casa Aliaga.

After a brisk day of walking around at the altitude, a break at the traditional Bolivar Hotel to get a Pisco Sour is always a good idea!
